Kasey LeBlanc (he / him) is a queer, trans, Jewish and neurodivergent author who writes stories for young people. His debut young adult novel Flyboy tells the story of a closeted trans boy, his Catholic high school, and the magical dream circus where he can finally be seen for his true self.

Born and raised in Massachusetts, Kasey spent his childhood making frequent trips to the local library, talking too fast, and reading too much. A writer since third grade, his first taste of literary success came in middle school in the form of back-to-back wins in a regional writing contest. The Barnes and Noble gift cards he received as a prize taught him that writing stories was a good way to make money to buy books, and he has been chasing the high of that moment ever since.

Kasey was an Alice Hoffman fellow with GrubStreet’s Novel Incubator Program, and a 2019 finalist for the Boston Public Library's Writer-in-Residence Program. He has since been published by WBUR's Cognoscenti, them, DeadDarlings, and WriterUnboxed.

The Bulletin for the Center for Children's Books called his debut novel "an immersive, magical world," while Kirkus described it as "a trans story of belonging and first love". When not writing, Kasey can be found cuddling with his roommate's cats, and mourning the loss of Boston's only flying trapeze school.

He is represented by Mollie Glick at CAA.
